On the road to Deming for the Holiday

Pulled out of Clayton park early to get to town and do the laundry. Yep.... laundry day again. LOL. 

Finished laundry around 10am and hit the road to Deming NM we will stay at the LOW camp from the 24th until the first of June. Do not wish to be on the road during the holiday weekend. 

Stopped for a break and had cold tea and pie at the Brown Hotel in Springer NM

Talk about old fashion .....  Room keys and letters in an old  wall organizer. 

Storrie Lake is not much to look at.. Glad it is a one night stay only.

First time I have seen a State Park that has units parked so close to each other. 

Day two on the road to Deming NM....

Today was a long day, took several tries to find a place to have breakfast, first place could not be found, second place was closed, third had a parking lot way to small, fourth was in a busy street that did not feel safe taken an RV, so parked in a Shell Station and ate in a Mc Donald's. 

Second fun part of the day was the place we had paned to stay was closed, so had to go an extra 30 miles to find a State Park we could stay the night. Total drive time today about 7 hours. 

So tonight we stay at Elephant Butte Lake S.P.  Should make for an easy drive tomorrow..

Day three to Deming

Early morning departure from Elephant Butte Lake S.P.  trying to beat the winds predicted for the day. 

Stopped in Hatch NM to check out the chili, Hatch chili is said to be the best there is.  I purchased some hot sauce and salsa, and that was enough for me. 

Arrived in Deming just before the heavy winds hit but not before I had to slow down to 45 MPH to maintain control of the RV. Happy to get off the road for the next week.
